Friday Sketchers 63

Welcome everybody to my little corner of blog land!

I've had to make two wedding cards, and up to now I have only made the one :o( Yikes, I gotta have both done by tomorrow! So I'll be quick with this post and get on to making my second card!

Looking for inspiration I went to Friday Sketchers and found this lovely Sketch...

Here I have used another Greetings Farm stamps called Cake Topper (Thanks Amy).

The lines you can see in their hair cant actually be seen when you look at the actual card, well you can but just not as prominent as they seem on the photo. They are highlights I made using the Smooch accent ink.

Recipe
Stamps : The Greetings Farm Cake Topper stamp (regards of Amy my lovely DT Buddie), Sentiment from WoJ Wedding set
Paper/Card : Blueberry Hill and Textured card stock from Papermania
Tools : Nesties - Large Circle and Large Scalloped Circle, CuttleBug
Embellies : Paper Flowers from Stash, Card Candy (regards of Donna another lovely DT Buddie)
Medium : Copic pens, Smooch Clear/White pearlescent accent ink, Glamour Dust to accent the flowers on bride and her dress.

Thank you for poppin' by

LaLa Land Craft DT Call

I only found La-La Land Crafts yesterday - and I have fallen in love with the sneak peeks of the three stamps that are to be released soon. This is just one of them and her name is La La :o)
Irina, as you may have seen in a previous post has taken the plunge and has started her own stamp company. So far she has three very talented artists who are designing beautiful stamps for her.

Irina has a DT call out at the moment, so if you think you could work with these stamps from what you have seen, take a trip to La La Land Crafts and see what the call is all about. If you dont want to design and just just want to get your crafting hands on the stamps, make sure you follow the blog and also note down this site 'La-La Land Crafts Store' as this is where you will be able to buy the stamps from!

Thanks for looking and if you do go for the Design Team, Good Luck !!

Stampin' for the Weekend ~ Alterations!

Wow - What a lovely week I have had, making my way around all your blogs and commenting on all that lovely Masking. Super stamps you all have and I am loving the Stampscenes some of you did!

This week at Stampin' for the Weekend we have an equally excellent challenge for you! We would like to see you 'Alter' something.

This weeks lovely sponsor is Susie at Die Cut Dreams.

Susie is offering one of you lucky crafters who catches our eye, lots and lots of lovely die cuts! There has got to be £20 worth there, can you imagine what you could do with them? Chalk them, ink them, alter them the list is endless!

~~~~~~~~~~
I have decided to make a set for my 'Altered' project.
My Mother in Law had a Summer House built in her back garden and since my partner and his siblings have grown up and flown the coop, she has always wanted one, and earlier this month, her dream came true (shame I have no photo's - I will get some I promise!)
Here we have all of my items that I have made for this weeks Challenge. My altered Items are the Candle and the Note book.
Candle and Bag with Tag.
Candle all wrapped up ready to go in the bag.
The card I made and the note book cover I altered.
A little close up of the Card Image
And one of the Tag Image
There you have it. I had sooooo much fun making the candle. Super way to spruce up a plain alter candle and it didnt take all that long to do either. Dont forget we have the super lovely Suzie who is our Guest Designer this week. Its her last week, so make sure you pay her some love and go and see her wonderful Altered project, Thank you Suzie for Designing for us these past two weeks, been a pleasure!
Also - The Stampin' Team have come up with some Uber Altered Items, and you should go see for yourselves how they did it. Maybe they will inspire you to give something a go you wouldnt normally do?
My Recipe
Stamps: Magnolias Watering Can, Summer 09 Flowers (all three), Tilda with Key and Tilda with Flower also from the Summer 09 kit
Paper/Card: K&Co papers from Roam, Lifes Journey and Wild Saffron, Papermania Textured Card Stock
Dad's Birthday!
I've not had time to look at the challenges out at the moment for inspiration, so I've muddled together a simple birthday card for my Dad who doesn't like a lot of fuss.
He has a few Koi Carps in his ponds (amongst other fishies) which are in his back garden. I've had a look at Koi Carp colours and different species and I've taken the colours from them. I 'paved' the single stamp numerous times on the card, and then coloured them.
I've added some Smooch Pearlised Accent Ink in White to certain parts of the fish to highlight them, unfortunately, my camera has not picked this up. The Zippo Lighter is his pressie and you might guess another love of his is Playing Darts!
Recipe
Image - Koi Carp Stamp (ebay no idea who made it), Sentiment form Papermania
Paper - Papermania Textured card, and Gemstone card
No Embellies, No Tools.
Thanks for looking !
Stamp With Fun : #17 Pearls
I've never taken part in this Challenge, So I thought it was about time I did!
Over at Stamp with Fun, the theme this week is Pearls.
This is an anniversary card I have made for my Brother and Sister in Law. They were married three years ago today, but they class their real wedding as of tomorrow as they had two services. They were officially married at a civil ceremony on the 28th and then on the 29th they exchanged rings with a beautiful service held in my Sister in Laws Fathers house and HUGE back garden.
Here is a little close up of the image, you cant see it, but I've accented her little flowers in her hair with Glitter and also highlighted her dress. I didnt want to use the white pen on this card as thought the lines would be too intrusive to these pale shades, so have gently shaded with the copics!
~ Recipe ~
Stamps : The Greetings Farm Cake Topper (thanks Amy :oD), Whiff of Joy Wedding sentiment
Medium : Copics, Spica Clear Glitter Pen
Card/Paper : Papermania Textures Card Stock and Paper from Regency Collection, K&Co Life's Journey
Tools : Retro flower punch two sizes
Embellies : Pearl brad from stash, Papermania Pearl Adhesive accents!
Thanks for popping by !
No challenge, just a pocket card!
Over at DoCrafts, the ladies are always setting challenges for each other and some even host swaps of embellies and images (even though strictly speaking were not supposed to swap images).
One of the ladies over there called Paula, had a topic up for a July Wallet Card Swap so I put my name down. This is the result!
I bought 72 Prismacolours on Ebay which was spotted by my friend Donna. When they arrived, I didn't know what to do with them so they sat on my desk for a couple of days. I ordered some paper stumps and when they came on Saturday morning, I had to have a play. So last night I coloured this little image and I have to say its not bad for a first attemp.
I can safely say I LOVE my Prismacolours!
Here is a little close up of the gorgeous Sarah Kay image!
This is the inside, plain and simple, they are little pockets to hold the images, which you can just see poking out the top!
~ Recipe ~
Stamps : Sarah Kay - Picnic of Daisies (Thanks Donna), Sentiment from Whiff of Joy
Medium : Prismacolour Pencils
Paper/Card : K&Co Paper collections Roam and Life's Journey, Papermania's Core'dinations Textured Card
Embellies : Brad from Stash, Chain and charm from my Shop (limited supply)
Tools : Retro Flower Punch in medium and large, Woodware corner punch
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Hope you had a lovely weekend and the week ahead is a good one!
Just Magnolia Week 15 ~ A sketch by Tab!
Over at Just Magnolias today, there is a fantastic sketch by the lovely and might I add, very talented Tab!
I decided to colour two images of Edwin with his surfboard this morning and depending on which one I liked best, I would make a card with. So off I went, inked and stamped, and coloured him twice!
Decisions...Decisions...Decisions....
I'm a woman and they don't come easy to me, so I decided to make two cards, the one I thought was the best I'd enter into the challenge - Again, I had to make a decision, other half was out working and Poppy fast asleep in her cot, so no easy option, so both of them are here!
Edwin in Orange
Close up of him...
Edwin in Teal...
(Sketch flipped on its side)
Close up of him...
There you have it, I don't know if you have a preference, but I liked them both and couldn't decide!
~ Recipe ~
Stamps : Edwin from the Summer Magnolia Collection (Which I'm in LOVE with)
Card/papers : Papers printed from Bearly Mine Designs Designer Extreme Vol I and II, Card from stash
Tools : Corner rounder punch from Woodware (I think)
Embellies : Ribbon from stash, Card Candy in orange and teal from Donna (Fanks again :oD ), Surfboard cut out from a post card I saw in a shop window and bought a couple.
Thank you for popping by and for any lovely comments you leave!
Onto my card then
Here I have inked up and masked three lovely Gorjuss Girls. Arent they looking rather cute today!
Added a flower with brad and some leaves, a few gems in the top corner and voila - A cute card for almost any occasion!
