Sugar Bowl meets Dutch Dare

Ok - I'm loving the Simply Sassy Gals from Sugar Nellie. I've read somewhere that there is going to be a blog hop soon (December 4th), to showcase set three and I'm so excited!

I've used 'Little Light of Mine' and she can be found here at Funky Kits.

I'm entering this cutie into the Sugar Bowl Challenge which is another fabulous sketch and the theme of Snowflakes and the Dutch Dare Card Challenge which is Christmas Tag/Card/Ornament! - I've gone for a non traditional card.

I've kept her simple as I really want to enter the WOW competition again over on the Sugar Nellie blog - I hope I can enter twice, if not please discount this entry!!

Coloured using Distress Inks, Linen and Hammered textured white card stock, simple sky blue card stock for layering.
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts
Snowflakes are an assortment of punches I had lying around in my drawer.

and a close up ...

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of blog land.
Please leave a comment so I can come visit you!

Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy Round 1

Karen over at Sugar Central is holding a fabulous competition, with an unbelievable prize.
I was in my dashboard earlier on and found it, and thought - yeah, I'l have a go. Haven't got a cats chance in hell of winning, but I've entered anyways!

Karen is offering one lucky person the chance to win a Spellbinder Grand Calibre! How cool is that!
All you have to do to be within a chance of winning, is get your Simply Sassy Stamps that you've bought recently from Funky Kits, ink em up, colour em, and make a WOW card, that's White on White if you didn't already know hehe!
Karen wants the cards simple to show off colouring and shading skills, and to make the Simply Sassy Gals the main feature!

Well - here is my attempt - and Karen, don't shoot me ok, I know I've cheated by adding some Lace Raffia, but I have a really, really, really good excuse! I followed one of my favourite sketches from one of the Sugar Bowl Challenges which was held in July LAST year, can you believe!

I've used plain white card for layering, and the sparkly glittered paper was from my scrap box.
Pearls were a gift from Elaine, lace raffia from Bunny Zoe Crafts.
Coloured using Distress Inks...
Swarovski Crystal gems for the centres of the flowers and a pink gem for her sock.

Here is a close up of this cutie!

Not only is Karen offering the chance to win the Spellbinder Grand Calibre, the lucky winner will also be offered a place on the Simply Sassy DT! How lush would that be! There will also be other spots available as Karen is wanting to expand the team, and why not - these gals need to be out there mingling!

I may need your votes in the near future if I get picked to go through to Round 2!

Wish me luck xx
(p.s. - dont forget my free stamp draw which I will be picking a winner tomorrow night, scroll down to my LOTV card and enter)

Gorjuss Summer

Good Afternoon

I bought a magazine yesterday as the lovely
Jo (aka Boots the Monkey) was featured in it (pg 64/65) with some gorgeous cards. The Magazine is Cardmanking and Papercraft, which came with a free pad of papers by My Minds Eye part of the Quite Contrary set. Very summery. So I thought I'd use them today for this card.

I'm entering this card into two challenge:

and
(I hope that using the circle and scalloped circles is enough)

I've added a gem corner, coloured pearl head pins and silver butterfly from stash. The gorgeous flowers I received in a birthday package from Donna last month, thanks again hun J.

Close up of my favourite Gorjuss Girl in the three sets that were released
I used Copics to colour this sweetie in and they are:
Skin: E00, E50, E51, R11, R20
Hair: E31, Y00, YR20, YR31
Clothes: YG06, YG11, R85
W1, 3, and 7 for the floor shadowing, C1 for the shadow around the image

Please don't forget that I have a candy going at the moment. Its not a big one, just this little cutie below from Lili of the Valley to celebrate the start of my new job next week in one of the local Prisons. Its going to be a challenge, but I'm so looking forward to it. The only problem I'm going to have is not being able to see my lovely boyfriend or my precious daughter when I want to.
You can find my candy here.

Thanks for popping by

A Sketch for you - DT card Stampin' for the Weekend

Good Morning, its a Friday, and its the 3rd Friday of the month which means:

Another challenge over at Stampin' for the Weekend!

This week the lovely Fiona has created this fabulous sketch for us to follow

She is also providing the prize for this challenge which are these two gorgeous stamps from Funky Kits.
They are Sugar Nellies - Part of the Home Grown collection!

Wish I could play along this week!
***
Here is my take on the sketch for this challenge

I have used some gorgeous papers I received in a Secret Santa pressie called Lemonade which is by Basic Grey. I have used copics and coloured in my Tildas (Tilda Picking Peaches and the other one of which I'm not sure which collection she belonged to) and added some lace, ribbon, charms and flowers from my stash.
The sentiment is also a Magnolia Stamp.

I have popped this little cutie on the inside too so the inside isn't bare and boring! She sits on a strip of paper which goes along the inside length of the card, just below where you'd write your message

We also have a Guest Designer this week - Sharon kindly agreed to stay on until the end of January - Thanks Sharon!! Check our her beautiful creations here!
Thank you for popping by, I hope you will visit the Design Teams blogs and see what they have come up with this week. I'm sure you will find lots of inspiration to take part in the challenge this fortnight!

Totally Gorjuss meets Tuesday Morning Sketchers

Hello everyone
I've had a play around this evening with my NEW Distress Re-Inkers and coloured this cute Gorjuss Girl in from Funky Kits.
When I was finished I didnt know what to do with her so I went on the look out and found some Challenges
Tuesday Morning Sketchers had this sketch for us to play with so I rotated it 180 degrees

And the lovely Totally Gorjuss Challenge blog were looking for Thank You cards.
I tend not to put 'THANKS' on the front of my thank you cards, so I hope the girls on the TG Team don't mind too much!

I've used papers from K&Co - 'Roam' and 'Life's Journey' 12x12 collections

Punched some flowers with the same papers using my Retro punches in Large and Medium sizes, and added some green gem brads from stash

A little close up of this cutie!

Thank you for popping by!

Stampin' for the Weekend Week 12 - DT card!

Welcome to week 12 for Stampin' for the Weekend!
This post has been schedueld as I am in London for a couple of days - I hope its worked !
The team have come up with some beautiful designs, inc our Guest Designer - Erin - so please pay them all a visit and leave them some love too :D

Our sponsor this week is Windrush Cards & Crafts.
Alison is offering a cute Happy Hoppers Stamp, called "The Spot Light"

Isn't he cute! Wish I could do that to keep warm on chilly evenings! :D

This week we are going for a colour combo and the colours are Pink and Grey!

I was a little nervous at first because I didnt want to mess things up so, I decided to keep it nice and simple and have only used Papermania Textured Card stock for my colours.

I inked up this little girl 'Daisy' from Sugar Nellie and coloured her first with Copics. From that I started playing around with shapes on the card. What you see above is what I came up with.

I do hope you like it :D

A little close up of Daisy.
The flower was punched with my Retro Flower Punches and the roses were from my stash. The charm on the chain was from my shop and the sentiment is a Papermania one!

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of Blog land

And I've doodled in the same way and written thank you on this one!

Stampin' for the Weekend - Week 10

For this weeks challenge, Vicki has given us this lovely sketch to work with, and I have to say I really enjoyed it!

Thanks Sweetie!

We have a lovely sponsor this week too..
Sir Stampalot who is offering one lucky crafter a
'My Favorite Things - Isabelle Paper Doll Clear Stamp Set!'
So for my card I decided to ink up this Gorgeous Sugar Nellie - Manga Girl which I bought fromFunky Kits when they were first released (Have since bought the other three hehe).

I think she is brilliant, and I've seen her around on some blogs and she is so versatile too.

I bought some fabric from the local quilting shop a while ago and decided to use some as inspiration for her tights and arms. So I started to colour her with those exact colours. However, I had no papers to match. So I cut up the fabric and wrapped it round some card and hey presto, bobs your uncle I had some groovy backing :o)

I layered up some retro flowers and stamped out a sentiment, popped em all together and I think it looks very funky!!
Another little view of the card.

Please head on over to Stampin' for the Weekend and check out the Teams Fabulous takes on Vicki's Sketch! They've done a fantastic job!!

~ Recipe ~

Papers/Card : Gemstones Card Stock, Fabric from local store, Textured Card Stock from Papermania

The Sugar Bowl ~ Challenge 15

Over at The Sugar Bowl for this fortnights challenge is a Sketch from Gayle. I think this sketch has so many possiblities, but I can not explore them all, (well not at this minute anyways, I will keep it in mind for further cards though as I think its a really good one!)

The added options this fortnight are Ribbons and/or Bows!

I got my lovely little Manga Girl 2 in the post today from Funky Kits, and have only been able to have a play with her this afternoon, and I went out for a meal with my Boyfriend and Poppy so had to finish it off when I got back.

I coloured her using my copics and then cut her out with my craft knife. I added a little blue bow opposite the flower arrangement for a little balance.

Here she is up close!
I managed to get some of the EK Success Retro Flower punches at a really good price over at The Glitter Pot (Super Fast Delivery and the cheapest I could find) and I bought some paper roses when I was out, I could only get one sheet of white, so I inked them with my Copic Pen before gluing them down.

I dont normally decorate the insides of my cards, but I loved colouring this little girl so much, I put her inside too.

~ Recipe ~
Stamps : Manga Girl 2 from (Sugar Nellie @ Funky Kits)
Paper/Card : Papermania Textured Core'dinations collection
Tools : Cuttlebug, Circle Nesties, Retro Flower Punch in Medium and Large
Embellies : Ribbon from stash tied in a bow, Gem from local art shop, Not sure of manufacturer of the roses, Buttons and Gems from stash

Thanks for popping by
