Good bye for a while!...

Going away for a while!!...

Its been a rough and turbulent past few years and its finally come to a head. I will be taking some time out away from blog land and as my MOJO has up and gone walkabouts, I'm not sure when I will return! I've also been signed off from work! (If my Gp had her way it would be indefinitely but I need to make a living by working, so I wont be taking her up on this! I'l just take the time I need to get my head sorted!).

Thank you to everyone who has left me kind words of support in the past and to those who have followed me!

I will be back, in a couple of weeks or more, so please don't all desert me lol!!

Just For Fun!

Not something I'd usually make, being as its a child's card, but as it's my friends Son's birthday tomorrow, I thought I'd best get cracking and get a card made!
At the moment he is Thomas Mad, so I have found this image by doing a search, printed it, and coloured it in.

I added the Kai by stamping the individual letters onto some card and colouring it in to match Thomas, and the sentiment I crated in word and printed!
Lets hope he likes his card, and also his pressie, which you might guess - is Thomas the Tank related!!

Stampin' for the Weekend DT card - Sketch Time!

Well - How bad am I!!! First off I forget that its the 19th February - a day for posting over at Stampin' for the Weekend in preperation for the challenge going live. Mind you. I was on night duty so my mind has been a bit pickled! Then I find that the post I had scheduled for my own blog didnt work, so I've rescheduled it to work for midnight on the 20th!

This fortnight we have a fabulous sketch by Di - Our extremely talented Design Team member, not only is she good at creating sketches and making cards and what nots, but she's only gone and opened her own Digi Shop! Check it out here! The prize is FIVE of these gorgeous Digi's!

We also have a fabulous Guest Designer by the name of Shirley Chalmers - please check out her fantastic blog and all her pretty creations!

Here is what I've done with Di's Sketch, I've rotated it and used one of her fabulous images!!

Papers are Basic Grey - Indian Summer. The roses are Wild Orchid Crafts and the charm and ribbon are from my stash.

Coloured with Copics and highlighted with the trusted old Ranger - Inkssentials White Opaque Pen

A card for Mum and some challenges!

This card is for my dear Mum for Mothers Day.
(I should really say Mam as I'm from Ooop Noooorth!)

I've kept it fairly simple, the only tricky bit was cutting the circle aperture.

I cut the aperture from the card stock first then the papers from MME, was a little tricky, but so happy with the outcome! Distressed the outside and around the image with my Queue Chalk Ink Pads. Image coloured with Distress Inks.

I'm entering this into a few challenge 

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Spring is in the Air - Well Mothers Day is in the Spring and I think the colours fit perfectly!
Stamp Something - CUTE! - This little girl form Lili of the Valley is extremely cute! So sweet!
Crafty Catz - Buttons and Bows - Not sure if I'l get away with the tiny bow I made!! Fingers crossed!!

Also entering this card (along with some emailed ones) for the Paper Romance DT Call!

MDUC, Stamp with Fun, ABC and Sketch Saturday!

I've made a card for my sister, who celebrates her birthday on the 15th February.
I've made the card with a few challenges in mind. I first saw the challenge over at Magnolia Down Under which was Pink and Grey - Gorgeous combination, and I loved playing with the pinks and greys! 

Stamp with Fun have the challenge of hearts - well I'm hoping that I can use this card for the challenge as the gorgeous little Ladybug Hearts Tilda has a staff with a heart and also donning a gorgeous head band (antennae) of little hearts too!

ABC Challenge are asking for some New stash to be used, well the stamp on the front, the papers and the ladybug charm are all new!!

Sketch Saturday have a beautiful sketch to follow which was so easy, and the team have flipped and turned, but I was happy with it the way it was. Except of course using an oval instead of the circle!!

I'm doing Race for Life 2010 again this year!

Hi There!!

As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in December 2008. I had only given birth three months previously, so to have news like this was earth shattering.

I was scoped on the 1st December, diagnosed on the 9th and had surgery on the 17th to remove the tumour. I went home on the 21st December, to be with my family!

I was given news while in hospital, only a day out of surgery that I had 'tumours' in my liver, and that I would need scans and treatment. I then had to visit Basingstoke Hospital twice for specialised MRI scans to look in detail at my Liver and had to got to another hospital to have a PET scan to see if there were any other 'nasties' growing in my already battered and abused body!

After results came back and I was told that the Liver was not a problem at the moment and they 'keep an eye on it' as there was no evidence of Cancer, or anywhere else in the body, I underwent 6 months of Chemotherapy.

We celebrated in August 2009 my Daughters 1st Birthday and the finish of my Chemotherapy.

I have since had a scope and a CT scan and everything seems to be satisfactory of which I am hoping will stay that way!!

Sorry for this long post, but I just wanted to give you a bit of information on my story..

The photo is of me and my gorgeous Daughter only an hour after birth. She's been my inspiration and my little rock to getting me through some difficult times, as well as my loving boyfriend Stephen who I love very much, my parents, his parents and my close relatives and friends! Including a very special Aunty Shelagh and my Best Mate Charlene!

I have used papers by Bearly Mine Designs on the Designer Extreme Vol III disc- which are a dream. The disc's are full of gorgeous patterned paper which co-ordinate beautifully together!

I coloured this little Hallowe'en Tilda from last years collection with Copics, and added some Stickles for her wings. The Post Mark stamp and the Sentiment stamp are also from Magnolia.
The Ribbon, lace and gems are all from my stash!

Magnolia Down Under ~ an Orange Girly Sketch!

Over at Magnolia Down Under Challenge blog - The girls have given a sketch to follow which can be seen here. Not only is there a sketch, but, it MUST be GIRLY and some ORANGE must be seen too! 

They're not asking much are they!! Pffffh!

I've created a box which is going to be going to a dear friend with some crafting goodies inside, and this is how I have decorated the top.

I've used this gorgeous Tilda from the 'Pink Collection' from last year which were created to raise money and awareness of Breast Cancer. 

This is the first time I've used her, and I thought she'd only look good in PINK, how wrong was I?? I love this colour combo on her, and will probably use it more often.

A close up of her! I've used Distress Inks to colour her - I think I'm getting better at them.. Well I hope I am :D)

I've used Shabby Shutters for her shirt and socks, and Spiced Marmalade for her dress. I cheated and used Copics for her fleshy bits! (E50, E00, E51, R11 and R20).

Tilda and sentiment from Magnolia, Bloom and Grow Papers by MME, Distress Inks, MS Heart Border Punch, Large flower from Wild Orchid Crafts and the smaller cherry blossom ones I won in a gorgeous candy from Helene - The flowers are the only item I can bare to touch and use (as there are a few of them, and I felt I could spare two!), the rest is so delicious I don't want to use it! Keep looking at it and 'wow' its amazing, I feel so lucky! Thank you Helene! 

The ribbon and charm are from my stash.
