Whiff of Joy Challenge #40

Over at the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog, this weeks challenge is a Sketch by the lovely Donalda.

I have gone for a Christmas theme for this challenge, and its my first one of the year! I did not make any cards last year as I was fat and pregnant and after the end of August, all of my time was given to my baby girl!

Here is the card I have created with Donaldas Sketch in mind. I decided to keep the papers vertical and not go for the diagonal (I know, its not in the Sketch lol), and the circle top right I brought forward and used the flower for this element!

Doesn't Lizzie look all cosy warm with that muff!

Fred She Said - Freebie Challenge!

So - Not to miss out, I've made this little red and brown card with the Freebie Digi and this is what I've come up with!

I printed off some papers from Donna's Disc - Designer Extreme Vol I and chose papers from the brown and neutral collection and then from the red collection. They print really well, only I think my inks are running a little low, so I will have to get some new cartridges for the trusty old printer

I coloured the image in with copics and went for vibrant reds and greens. I really wanted the plant and flowers to stand out. you cant really tell on the photo but the shading is actually better when you hold the card, than in the picture, some of the leaves and petals looks like block colours but I swear they arent!

Here are a few more pictures close up and at a different angle to show my decoupaging!

For the inside I used another of Donna's Discs, only this time its the Designer Extreme Inserts one. Each insert can co-ordinate with the papers from BOTH Designer Extreme Discs Vols I and II!

Thank you to everyone for the Get Well wishes. I am overwhelmed at how many of you care and I am a complete stranger! So thank you from the bottom of my heart. Its been amazing reading all of the comments and a fair few of you have been touched by cancer be it yourselves or loved ones!

I hope that those who have never had Cancer touch thier lives, never have it do so.

I wont get the all clear until sometime in 2013-2014 after I have had various scans and investigations, but currently things are looking great for me!

But I've not had a chance with being on Chemotherapy and running around after my little girl Poppy. However, I have managed to take a photo today. An Award!

I was happy and sad this morning that I wasn't having my chemo -

Happy because I got another two days off, and sad because it adds another two days to me having to take chemo. Never mind.

Anyways - The lovely Shirley AKA Nannie Flash has given me this lovely award.

'Circle of Friends'

Shirley is a real inspiration not only for card making (if you haven't seen her cards, head on over and have a peek, they are fab), but she is a lovely lady who is always taking time out of her already hectic schedule to leave comments on blogs like mine. Shirley has been through the mill herself and Cancer has touched her family, be it a while ago now, I'm sure she still carries the memories of her beautiful baby boy where ever she goes! Heaven was missing an Angel and they decided that they wanted her son to join them. He was only a baby and the months that Shirley and her family got to spend with him were very precious! {hugs}

So Shirley, Thank you so much for thinking of me and giving me this award. You so deserved it, and I'm sure the person who gave you it thought a lot about you when deciding! I have to do the same, so I am going to give it to a few people!
