Anyone for Anya meets Colour Create Challenge

I'm recovering well from my surgery last week. I've walked into town and back and even driven the car so I'm improving rather well, even if I do say so myself.

I saw the Gp yesterday and it wasnt my regular one as she retired last week, but another partner in the practice. When I asked him for a sick note for two weeks he said it was more than reasonable and asked if I wanted more time off hehe. I think with everything I've been through, less time is good. I need to get back into the swing of things as soon as!

I've made a VERY QUICK card this evening. My mojo is somewhat lacking, so I apologise.

I'm entering this cutie into

Anyone For Anya - Sketch which is fab!
The girls are having a DT call so if you fancy it, get in touch with them!

&

Colour Create which is to use colours from this photo as inspiration
Drool, dribble, pant... feint!
The added extra was to use something you could see in the photo so I went for some 'pins'.
I also used the green of the back ground and the orange of his hair for the colour choice.

A close up!

Stamp: The Greetings Farm Amelia and sentiment from Happy Days Collection (from Quixotic Paperie)
Medium: Copics and Memento Ink to stamp with
Papers/Card: Papermania Gem Collection (Very sparkly card stock, love it!)
Embellies: Ribbon from Quixotic Paperie, flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts, Pearl Pins from stash, Glammour Dust and Ranger Rock Candy for some glitz)

A little Candy

As some of you know my new job starts on July 12th. It will soon be here so I thought I'd offer a little (and I mean little) candy just for fun.

You may also know that I am a Nurse so I think the stamp I've chosen its very apt for this give away.

Isn't she cute
I'l also pop in a bit of EZ Mount so whoever wins her can use her straight away!

Stick your name below and I'l draw a winner the weekend of the 10th!

I'm HOME!!! YEY!!!

Thank you to everyone who left me lovely get well messages and good luck vibes.

I had the surgery first thing yesterday morning and was out of theatre by half 10. I would have been allowed home yesterday but I'd had a drain inserted to help drain away blood and washout from the surgery (YUK). I didn't really want to bring the drain home with me, esp with the chance of Pop's pulling on it or jumping on my stomach ha ha!

The drain was removed this morning and I got home around lunch time. I've watched DVDs and snoozed most of the afternoon. Making up for lost sleep last night with 'Mr Nightmare Patient' who was loud and annoying the other patients at 4am this morning, grrr.

Here's to a smooth recovery and NO MORE SURGERY!!!

Thanks again for all my messages - I really do appreciate them!

Argh - Today is the Day!!

I'm just about to leave for the hospital - I am a little nervous - almost more than what I was when I had major surgery to remove some of my bowel due to Cancer in 2008... I hate having anaesthetics. They make me all weepy.

Catch you on the other side when I have no Gall Bladder!

p.s. thank you to everyone who has sent me good luck messages, emails and vibes!

One Card THREE Challenges!

My mojo has up and gone recently and I've been blogging this morning and while sat at my desk I saw some new stash I bought for my birthday and a wee package I was given a little while ago and they were all screaming for me to play.

I'm entering this card into three challenges
Anyone For Anya ~ Fabulous Flowers
Basic Grey ~ Colour Combo (Brown, Cream and Turquoise)
Stamp With Fun ~ A Sketch

Its my first time playing with Basic Grey and also Anyone for Anya so I'm hoping they like my card.

Papers are Basic Grey Cappella which fits nicely with the Brown and Cream them and the dress and flowers on Miss Fleur here are bluey turqoise (Its as near as I could get with the old DI's).
The Rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Prima flowers are a mix of my own stash and those which I was given in a very nice package from a lovely lady recently (which also included the papers and the pearl brads).

I've added some Glitter to her flowers and also some Rock Candy by Ranger to the rose, but it doesnt show very well.

Just before I go - What do you think of my daughter??
Taken at the weekend at the local beer and food festival

Too cute for words, right?...
Thanks for looking

Sir Stampalot Challenge and a quick update

Before I show you my card I'l get the update out of the way now...

I'm having an operation (Cholecystectomy - simple terms - Gall Bladder removal) on Thursday due to the Chemotherapy I had last year and I've been trying to get ahead of things, but with having visited my parents and then having them come to me for a week, its kinda gone out the window haha. So I'm WAY WAY behind on my DT work for Spesch Designer Stamps, Di's Digital Downloads and Bearly Mine Designs. Oh my!

I have loads of catching up to do, especially as I only have two and a bit weeks to recover from my operation before I start a new job. I handed my notice in at work due to me being unable to cope with being around Cancer Patients who are dying or who have been just diagnosed as it was just too close to home.
There was also an incident on the ward which flipped a switch in my head and I just couldnt work there anymore so I applied for a job thinking the application would be good practice and then they offered me an interview - I was so shocked. I went along for experience not really thinking they'd offer me the job but they did. So as of July 12th I will be a Prison Nurse. I'm so looking forward to it!

Its been a busy June so far, but I'm looking forward to watching Wimbledon after Thursday - Catching as much as possible now while working my last days at work and then being off for two weeks recouping I will be able to enjoy the matches and then the final. Whoot Whoot. Not to mention crafty time if I can bare to sit for long enough.

Ok - My card. Its a fairly simple one but its so suitable for Sir Stampalot Challenge which this month is

Punch It Out!!

I've used a Lili of the Valley stamp Baby Blanket from the new release and I just love her/him! So versatile.
I've punched out 'Abigail' with my new Rainbow Alpha Set from Quickuts, mid line border is MS Heart Lace Border punch and the circle and scallopped circles are my Nestie shapes.

Image coloured with Distress Ink, and I've kept it so simple, just because its a baby card and less fuss sometimes looks beautiful in itself.

Thank you for looking!

I'm Back and some News!

Hello :o)

I'm back - if you haven't realised I was gone why not?... and for those who sent me emails asking where I was thank you - it means a lot that you noticed I was missing.

I'm back from my little vacation to my parents house, been gone a week and had a lovely time with my family and friends up in the North East of England.

I wont be ready to blog anything for another week or so as I have some plans to do some major redesigning of the gardens at the front and back of the house. I will try and take photos as we go along. Once I've got that out of the way I will try and get some crafting done. It was my Birthday last week, and I got so many crafty goodies I'm itching to ink up stamps and cut up papers :)

Another card - Just for fun!

Its for my Dad from my daughter Poppy. As I'm a North East girl, South Shields to be exact, 'Granda' is the version of 'Grand Dad' we sometimes use. Its what I've been teaching Poppy to use for my Dad.

I've used a sheet of the new Papermania Hampstead papers and cut it down a little. Ribbon from stash and the 'Granda' is from my new Alphabet Die from Quickutz which I put through the Cuttlebug. I fell in love with this alphabet set when I saw it on Rach's site a week or two ago here, but no where had it in stock so I've been patiently waiting for it to arrive.

I coloured this new Lili of the Valley image with Distress ReInkers
A simple card for a not too fussy man - I think it works :)

Stamp Something's Digi Week!

Its been a while since I sat and made a card for me... Its always been a card for someone or an occasion and I've made the card to suit that person. This time, I've sat and made a card for me. I feel when I make a card for me, they are more simplistic and I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not.

So I've made this card using one of Di's Digital Image and he can be found here, it's called 'Floppy Bunny Hugs' and he is so sweet, cuddling his wee wabbit! So cute.

I've used papers by Making Memories part of the Cosmopolitan Collection, added some Gingham ribbon and a few Pearl Brads. I coloured my bear and his bunny with Prisma Colour Pencils.
Its a simple card, but I think I like the way it turned out. Not too fussy.
I'm entering this card into Stamp Something's Challenge this week.
Its Digi Week and there are a handful of Digital Artists who are sponsoring this challenge - So... get your skates on, get a Digital Image printed and join in!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Thank You card for a Lovely Lady!

I've made a Thank You card for a lovely friend! Donna from Bearly Mine Designs has more or less mentored me back into crafting since the whole diagnosis of Cancer and occasionally we send each other little goodies through the post. She also gave me my first Design Team title for the Bearly Mine Designs Papers.

So - just as a little thank you, I made this card and a box to go with it with some goodies in and sent it to her on Tuesday - Well she has them now so I thought I would share it with you all.

Thank you for everything Donna - You are a star!
Hugs

Its that time of the month again - Spesch Designer Stamp release!!

I bet the Aussies are feeling a little cold right now as their winter starts to kick in...Tracey is trying to being a little Summer to the Winter in the way of some amazing Sizzling Summer Digi stamps which are due for release today the 1st June from Spesch Designer Stamps!

I've used a fabulous image by the very talented Max - Max has been drawing for a long while now with a few different styles, but I have to say I love these Summer Chibi's... They are so cute.
There are two boys and two girls in the collection and they are just super cute!!
Please check out the Spesch Blog to see the other designers work and find out which stamps they have chosen - also we have the Uber Talented Amy Young guest designing for Spesch for the month of June too! Please check out her work too!

Here is 'Summer Girl' and I just love her hat!!
I've used Digital Papers by Bearly Mine Designs and they are from the Country Collection and can be found here
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the little butterflies are left overs from my MS Butterfly Border Punch, Gems from stash.
I coloured Summer Girl in copics and when I was spritzing the flowers with glimmer mist I had the card too near to the flowers on a sheet of paper - and the card got misted too - looks lovely though, esp when the sun catches it - very sparkly!

Don't forget that some of the Digital Stamps being made into Clear Polymer Stamps and the latest ones to be transformed are Penny and Sophie - Bonnie, and two of the wedding collection stamps are also available in Clear Polymer.

Happy Crafting.
