Race for Life

Good Morning everyone!

Today is the day I am taking part with Thousands of Women who are running, jogging or walking the Race for Life in aid if Cancer Research!

For those of you who do not know, I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in December 08, just three months after giving birth to my gorgeous and so lucky to be here baby girl. She is now 9 months old and I am so smitten like the rest of the family, especially Daddy who she has wrapped round her little finger already!
I started Chemotherapy just over four months ago, and I have two more months left of the treatment. So far, scans have been negative for any other nasties lurking around, so for that I am very thankful.
Anyways - I just thought I'd let you all know that I've not been around these past few days as I have my parents down for a few days, before me and Poppy go galivanting in the North East of England (my home) for a couple of days! I will see you all next week some time, if I manage to find a connection, if not, I'll see you when Stampin' for the Weekend Starts!
Also, if I may be so up front and ask - if you have not sponsored anyone for Race for Life, and I know many of you probably have, could you please consider sponsoring me? I have a link in my side bar, for any of you wishing to donate.

Thank You soooo much for reading my post, and I truly hope that you and your family/friends are never affected by this god awful, life shattering disease! If you have been affected, take a minute just to reflect and think of yourself, and love ones.

Hugs

Simon Says Challenge ~ Animals

Hi Everyone :o)
I hope you are all having a lovely week, its been raining here today in Dorset, so I didn't feel like tidying the house, or going out to play, so Poppy and I had a fun filled day of playing and sleeping he he... However, once the little mite was down for the night, I had a play and this is what I came up with...

Over at Simon Says Challenge - The theme for today is ANIMALS :o)
What better animal to use than one of Dustin Pikes Digital Monkey's? I'm hoping Simon Says allows Digi Stamps as I don't have many stamps that are animal that I can ink up, and none no where near as cute as this one! I'll have to get a wish list started soon...
I've kept the card almost minimal. I decided to stick with two colours - Red and Blue.
I had some buttons in my stash that I thought I'd never use as they've been sat there for ages and today I finally used them, whoop whoop. I threaded them with some red ribbon also from my stash and tied them in a knot.
I cut out the image using my Nestabilities Large Circle and then alternated between colours and sizes of the Circles and Scalloped Circles.

I coloured the Monkey using my Copics and highlighted him with the Inkssentials pen. I think I'm getting a little better at using this pen, although I never seem quite confident enough to put it to an image, until I make the first highlight. Well, that's it really.

Thanks for popping by my little 'ole blog, enjoy the rest of your week ...

Whiff Of Joy challenge #31

On wednesday Whiff of Joy released thier latest challenge - A lovely sketch by the very talented Heather!
So I cracked open the new Summer Kit and got to work! I mounted them all on EZ Mount when they arrived over a week ago - but I just havent used them yet! Shame on me!
Here we have one of my favorites in the kit - I'm not sure of her full name and will probably find out when the stamps go on individual sale on May 24th - You can buy them here (Whiff of Joy Stamps) when available, or have a look at the other stamps available - they are all gorgeous!

I coloured her in using my Copics and then layered her on two different shades of green card. The papers I have used are K&Co Wild Saffron and Roam which I bought from The Hobby House!

I punched out the flowers and added a brad to each one. The Dangling Charm is one of my own which I am selling in my shop - go have a looksie - I'm also looking for ideas on Digi Stamps!

Well thank you for popping by, enjoy your weekend!

The Sugar Bowl ~ Challenge 11

Over at The Sugar Bowl, today's challenge is a lovely Sketch by Kathy.
So - I got our 'Pickin' Apples' and coloured her using my Copics and high lighted her with the Inkssentials Opaque Pen. For some reason, I am finding the dark greens in my Copic collection a favorite at present. I did another Sugar Nellie stamp in the same colours and I think they work really well together, plus, they shade brilliantly!
All the papers you see here are from Bearly Mine Designs, Designer Extreme Vols I and II, I'm loving the Green Daisy one. Its so nice to print and because I've now got a green fetish, it may appear more and more :D Especially when making a green card! The ADDED ELEMENT for this challenge was to add some pearls. I've used the Pearl brads from Papermania, so I hope that fits the bill!

On the picture above you can see the dangling charms (which includes one pearl) I am selling over at Poppy Petal Designs Shop, go have a peek - also, I'm looking for ideas for Digi Stamps at the mo. I will be getting down to business and drawing them out when my Graphic Tablet arrives in the next week or so, then hopefully releasing them soon after! So - if you have any ideas on what you think is missing out there in stamp world, leave me a comment on my Digi Post on my Shop Blog!

Thanks for popping by, and dont forget to leave me a comment on my shop blog for ideas :o) Much appreciated!

Bearly Mine Designs Card and Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - #7 Pink, Green and Brown

I can not believe that Stamptacular Sunday Challenge blog is up to Challenge 7 already! The past few weeks have certainly flown by! The theme this week is Pink, Green and Brown. Here is my take on it! I've used Sugar Nellie 'reflection' and coloured her in using Copics.
The fabulous papers are from Bearly Mine Designs - 'Designer Extreme Vol II CD' - There is so much to choose from, I has great difficulty choosing as they are all favorites!!!

Here's a close up of her, she is sooo sweet, I wonder what she is thinking ?

The charm I added from my shop - Poppy Petal Designs Shop, I've had a play around with the prices now, for clarity - if you would like to have a look and have time, go visit my shop. You can order through eMail, pay through PayPal and the postage for UK buyers is free!

I kept the card simple, becuase the friend this will be going to is not keen on lots of embellies, esp as she is a fellow card maker!

Thanks for popping by!

Its a Digi Stamp and sooooooooooo CUTE!

I coloured him using my Copics - (of course) and used C1, V000, RV10, V12, YG06, G05 And Y17.

I used my card, flower and brad from my stash.

There are many works of art in the land of Lumas-Thorn and many elves enjoy not only their own work but the work of others. One particular artist by the name of Sculptan Carv takes the time out of his busy schedule to admire the works of others and on occasion will give to those, who have brought him the most pleasure, an award

Here we have Cupcake Monkey, Half Way and All Done! - Digi Stamps created by Dustin Pike. Go visit his blog and take a peek - He has even more amazing images and you will love his Dragons and Bears!!!

I coloured these cheeky monkies using my copics, being very careful not to smudge the printer ink!

Here we have the second cheeky monkey - Half Way! He is adorable!

All papers printed from Donna's discs over at Bearly Mine Designs! Donna released her Volume II of Designer Extreme Backing papers, and also her NEW venture - Designer Inserts Extreme too! The inside of the card I used Inserts from the CD!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - #5 - Mums, the word.

Over at the Stamptacular Challenge Blog the theme for today is 'Mums, the word!' As it is nearing Mother's Day over in the states (already been and gone here in the UK in March) people are planning and making Mother's Day cards to give.

Soooo... I made a card for my mum - but without it being a 'mother's day' card.
I have used Tilda here holding a flower basket, she is sooo sweet!

I coloured using Copics, and highlighted again with Inkssentials opaque pen.
The papers are a freebie from Donna at Bearly Mine Crafts - as a preview for the new release disks Designer Inserts Extreme and Designer Extreme Vol II out on May 5th

The script paper is from Designer Extreme Vol I and thought that it fitted in nicely with the colour scheme.

The flowes are from a Flora Doodle set that I bought the other week. The Brad and Dangling Charm are both from my stash. The Sentiment is from the free stamps with the new creativity magazine out now for Docrafts.

Thanks for looking!

Colour Create - Week Fourteen - Red, Cream and Chocolate

Over at Colour Create the theme this week is 'Red, Cream and Chocolate' chosen by Mina this week...the added extra option was to use ribbon.

I have decided to do a 'general card' and have used one of the Magnolia Stamps called 'Chasing Edwin'...

I used some DCWV paper as the back drop (the brown spotty paper) and then used the new WhiteWash Collection by Core'dinations and embossed it using the CuttleBug. Using a tiny bit of sand paper I took of the top layer of paper to give the dots a darker finish by taking off the 'whitewash effect'

I coloured Edwin with Copic Ciaos and used the white opaque pen from Inkssentials to highlight him (I am petrified of this pen and using it. I think I was very brave to use it here)...
I stuck down two strips of red ribbon from my stash using dst 6mm as I find this easier than using glues.

Then I got out my bead kit which I have collected over the weeks from buying from ebay and my local craft store to make up this charm of butterflies, beads and dragonfly. I dont think you can see it clearly, but behind the red dragonfly there is a tear drop silver charm which says 'made for you' on it. I cut out a scalloped circle with my nesties/cuttlebug and wrapped this funky fibre around inbetween the scallops.

Hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday... I've had a lovely morning making this card, and I think we are now off out to enjoy a BBQ and a few drinks with friends.

Y Enjoy the rest of the 'extended weekend!' Y

I'm Back...

...From our few days away in Looe, Cornwall.

We arrived on Tuesday and went into Looe, and had a quick look around the shops, then down to the beach, then we had some lovely pasties, cornish style! Wednesday we had a lazy day and only ventured into Looe and the surrounding area. Thursday we went to The Eden Project and had a fab walk around the two bio-domes and around the gardens. Fantastic plants, can't wait to go back in the summer when all the flowers not in bloom this time of year are in the summer!.

I loved these piggies made of wood. They looked so cute from afar and when up close the workman ship was amazing!

On Friday we left Looe and headed for home. We stopped off for lunch and when we left Stephen saw a sign for a place called Becky Falls - so off we went. It was an hour + long hike around the falls. I nearly fell over three times as it was soooo muddy and boggy.

I was really tired after we'd finished walking. Especially after the 200 foot climb up a root and loose stone riddled hillside!

Anyways - enough of me... I'm just glad to be home!
Thanks for looking !
