Colour Create - Week Fourteen - Red, Cream and Chocolate

Over at Colour Create the theme this week is 'Red, Cream and Chocolate' chosen by Mina this week...the added extra option was to use ribbon.

I have decided to do a 'general card' and have used one of the Magnolia Stamps called 'Chasing Edwin'...

I used some DCWV paper as the back drop (the brown spotty paper) and then used the new WhiteWash Collection by Core'dinations and embossed it using the CuttleBug. Using a tiny bit of sand paper I took of the top layer of paper to give the dots a darker finish by taking off the 'whitewash effect'

I coloured Edwin with Copic Ciaos and used the white opaque pen from Inkssentials to highlight him (I am petrified of this pen and using it. I think I was very brave to use it here)...
I stuck down two strips of red ribbon from my stash using dst 6mm as I find this easier than using glues.

Then I got out my bead kit which I have collected over the weeks from buying from ebay and my local craft store to make up this charm of butterflies, beads and dragonfly. I dont think you can see it clearly, but behind the red dragonfly there is a tear drop silver charm which says 'made for you' on it. I cut out a scalloped circle with my nesties/cuttlebug and wrapped this funky fibre around inbetween the scallops.

Hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday... I've had a lovely morning making this card, and I think we are now off out to enjoy a BBQ and a few drinks with friends.

Y Enjoy the rest of the 'extended weekend!' Y

oooh kimmi, love your charm and bed combo, you're so talented with them, have you thought of making some up and selling them, I think people would buy them, I know I would, as I don't have the tools to make them......and your coloring is fabulous and you did a great job with the white pen. The new Coredinations cardstock looks fab, might have to pick up one of them packs.
Hope you're having a great day out, it's a good day for a BBQ.
hugs
Donna
