Whiff of Joy Blog Hop Guest Designer Call

Hello, its 01:20am in the morning and I could not resist making a card, regardless of time and what time my gorgeous little baby girl will be up in the morning, because, the winner of this fabulous challenge set by Katharina of Whiff of Joy Stamps, will get to join 14 other lucky winners and be part of an Anniversary celebration blog hop. The winners will all receive a new stamp, never seen before to use in the blog hop. Sound very exciting, I have everything crossed :)

Yes that's right, Whiff of Joy Stamps is nearly ONE YEAR OLD! How good is that! I've only know about Whiff of Joy stamps since April of this year when I got back into card making and became addicted almost immediately. I say almost because I had to save up pennies, but once the Rubbah started to turn up, well, that was me hooked!

The lovely Katharina who brought us these beautiful stamps designed by Elizabeth Bell, Alison Acton and Sonja Wallrath, has set this gorgeous sketch for us to follow for a chance to win a seat for the Blog Hop which will take place in July!

I first thought that this Sketch was going to be way too hard, but hey, in for a penny in for a pound I said. So I got out my baby blue base card stock, folded it and away I went with my trusted HB pencil and my friend the eraser (cos he gets used a lot!)
I tried to keep the card as simple as I could and I made it with a friend in mind who is due a baby boy later on in the year! I hope I've made a card she will like as she likes pale colours and plain and simple things in life. She is praying most nights for a plain and simple birth!

I have inked up one of the newly released stamps in the Wedding and Baby collection over at WoJ shop. I inked her up using my Memento ink pad and then coloured her with my Copics. I decided to keep the baby bundle as small as I could. I've seen the image coloured completely, and as I only inked her half way, I thought having the baby blanket come down the side would throw the image off balance with only using half of it.

I carefully highlighted her with my Inkssentials pen, then used my cuttlebug and circle nesties to cut her out. I used the same card stock as the base to cut out the scalloped circle so that there was the same blue on the card as the base.

The papers used are from Papermanias Blueberry Hill collection which I bought the other day and have been trying them out on cards. I used some buttons from my stash and because I did not have any blue cotton, I coloured in some white cotton with my Copics. I also added some flower gems in pink to co-ordinate with the papers.

The Sentiment is from the Summer Collection released not that long ago. I thought that the card looked a little plain and was lacking something, so I got out my 0.5 Copic multi-liner and set to work at giving the card a little Faux Stitching. Its the first time I have done this on a card, and thought it looked effective.

Right then... With all that said and with you falling asleep at your computer, I think I'll head to bed! Thank you soooo much for popping by and reading my write up!! If you read this and make it into the Blog Hop and I don't, have fun, I really can not wait to see the new release!

Happy Crafting!
Y
