Magnolia Down Under - Sketch

This week over at Magnolia Down Under the girls have a fabulous sketch for us all to follow!

I have gone with two of the new Easter Stamps - 'Floral Background' and 'Hello! Tilda' which I purchased from Crafts U Love back in February and showed up about 1 week ago and I've only just inked them! - Shocking!

The papers are also by Magnolia and are called - 'Turquoise Rose' and 'Vintage Blue Quilt', again purchased from Crafts U Love at the same time.

I've coloured Tilda and the Background with Distress ReInkers, and added some Prima Flowers secured with some pearl brads. I have not put a sentiment on as my printer has been playing up and I have no Easter sentiment stamps. I guess I could have put a 'hello' sentiment on, but went with another flower. I hope the girls don't mind too much!

Thank you for popping by xxx

Colouring with Distress Inks - Tutorial

I put tutorial in the title, but this is basically how I colour my images.

First off you will need
Inks
Aqua Pen
Ink Pad
Stamp of choice
Card Stock of choice

First off stamp your image, I've used Versa Fine Black Onyx and 300gsm Watercolour paper

I'm using Tea Dye for her skin - so load the tip of the brush with the ink.
Go around the outline of her face

Then blend in working your way to the middle
Continue in the same way, loading the tip and outlining the areas that need to be coloured
Now I'm going to use Peeled Paint for her clothes - mainly her sleeves/top, dress and socks.

Again just outlining and then blending to the middle using water to bleed the colour lighter.
When you've finished and you want to add more shadow, wait till it is dry, wet, and then add the ink to add more depth
Here I've used Mustard Seed for her pinny

Here I've used the same technique, adding colour around the outline and blending to the middle.
Also coloured her shoes.

For the peaches I have used Dried Marigold and added some Tattered Rose

For the basket I have used Walnut Stain, and just blended to the middle

Tilda's Hair has been coloured using Walnut Stain, Black Soot and Antique Linen

Lastly I added some Tattered Rose to her cheeks, not sure if shows up though.

Finish

I have used in total - 8 inks
Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Peeled Paint, Mustard Seed, Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Black soot and Dried Marigold

Thank you for popping by, any comment would be greatly appreciated!

Stampin' for the Weekend DT - Its Nearly Easter

Well - I'm kinda back on track. I made this Easter Themed Project for Stampin' for the Weekend a little while ago when I got my delivery of last years Magnolia Easter stamps that I bought from the Magnolia Web shop.

This fortnights Sponsor is
Dulcie from Wild Rose Studio and she has kindly offered one lucky winner not one, but TWO stamps from the cute Milton Collection!
So onto my project -
The circular box was a gift with some cheese in it for Christmas. I left it to air a little as it was still smelling of feet - yuk - and didn't think I'd enjoy the chocolate tasting like cheese either!

I've used papers by We Are Memory Keepers - Jingle Jangle, Magnolia Tilda, and a Martha Stewart Heart Border Punch.

I used Distress Re-Inkers to colour the image, and cut her out using the Deckled Edge labels die in the Cuttlebug

Another view of some gorgeous naughties!! I have to admit, they are no longer in the box - just lots of foil and wrappers hehe
Our Guest Designer this week is Heather - Who has used a gorgeous House Mouse stamp - so pop on over and have a looksie!

Don't forget to visit the team blogs too, all can be found in my side bar, and on the Stampin' for the Weekend Blog. The girls take a lot of time out of their heavy schedules of being a mummy, wife, girlfriend, housework (which I'm sure they wont begrudge), and even when they've finished a day of work, they all make time out to leave you wonderful comments - so leaving them a little love would be nice!

I'm back and have some exciting news!

Good morning fellow crafters! Please forgive me as its a long one! - Grab a coffee and a few biccies!

As you know I've been away for a couple of weeks trying to get my head together. Having a break from card making has really helped to see things in a better light as I wasn't stressing over dead lines and which stamp to pick next!

I'm back to some degree, I admit my Mojo is still wandering around some place other than sitting with me when I make cards. I'm happy with them, don't get me wrong, I just have very little inspiration at the moment despite all the stamps, papers and embellishments I have.

So - that exciting news I have for you - well - just before I went to the dark side, Tracey AKA Booyagirl asked me if I'd like to be on her Design Team at the start of February. There was no name for the stamps/store and Tracey only had a handful to send me. Well I said yes before I'd even seen an image and I'm so pleased I did. They are brilliant. Since the first few I was sent, there have been more added to the Etsy Store since!

These Digi Stamps are - Spesch Stamps and can be found here! And you can buy them from the Etsy Store.

I've made a couple of cards - I think the lovely Willow has already been showcased on the Spesch Stamps blog, but you might notice a little change - I've coloured her leggings in a little more to make them more 'orangey'.

Papers by Basic Grey, Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, coloured with Copics.
***Bree
Coloured with Copics, Papers - Basic Grey, Stickles for the sand.
***
Cupcake Girl
Papers are again Basic Grey, coloured with Copics, circle and scalloped circle nesties.

Well those are the cards I have to show so far. I loved colouring them, the possibilities are endless, and once I get my Mojo back - there'l be no stopping me!

Tracey is having a DT call for the Spesch Stamps too!
This call out ends March 31st, and is open to everyone!

Please check out the full details here, and email Tracey using - booyagirl@optusnet.com.au

Thank you for paying a visit. I know it was a long one! I hope you didn't drop off to sleep!
Hopefully be back soon with some more cards!
