WoJ Challenge #35 - Paper Piecing

Over at Whiff of Joy the challenge this week is Paper Piecing. I've never done this before so I think I made an ok job of it! The prize this week is a WoJ stamp which happens to be the one I have used "Willow with Strawberries" and is sponsored by 7 Kids College Fund. She is so cute and very versatile. I just love working with her.

The Whiff of Joy team are looking to add to thier numbers, and if you would like your chance to be on thier DT all you have to do is enter this challenge and remember to put DT next to your name in Mr Linky.

Soooo.. Onto the card!

I coloured Willows hair, body and basket of strawberries with Copics and then paper pieced her dress and head band with some flowery mat stack I had left over from I think DCWV.
I highlighted her with the Inkssentials white opaque pen.

All papers are from Bearly Mine Designs - Designer Extreme Vol II - I think there is so much variety on these discs any card you set your mind on you can find papers to match! I went around the outside of some of the papers with ink pads to highlight them from the paper below. I also used my MS Doily punch to give a border near the flower.

You can see a little more clearly here where I paper pieced her. I coloured over the patterned paper where the apples were to make them stand out, and I also used a very pale pink to highlight the lace parts of her dress. I'm really proud of her hair, its the only think I'm really happy about on this card. I never seem to get hair right, and for some reason, the craft fairy was helping me with my mojo when I coloured her in.

I've added some paper flowers which were origionally white and coloured them with copics. You rarely see black flowers, so I'm not too sure of it. I've put together some charms and beads to hang from it too, took me a couple of mins to do, but thats because I kept dropping them as I cut my nails last night and couldnt get a proper hold on the jump rings or beads.

Thank you for popping by, and dont forget to enter for your chance to win this fab stamp! Oh, and also the chance to be on the Fabulous WoJ Design Team

Great job on the paper piecing! I have a phobia about fiddly cutting out!LOL! So I haven't ever tried this technique. Flowers look great too and yes the hair is really nicely done.
Thanks so much for the award.... Viv xxx
